Can’t Keep Us Apart

It’s Teen Camp week! We’re having a great time at The Edge Christian Camp! We appreciate my parents spending the week with Brooklyn and Addison, but we sure do miss our girls. I love how FaceTime and other technology helps shrink the distance between us and stay connected.

Romans 8:35 says, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?” Verse 37 gives the answer: “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”

I’d never stop loving my daughters no matter what, and nothing can separate God’s children from God’s love either.

The girls and I won’t ever stop loving each other, but to stay properly connected we have to spend time together (even if it’s just on the phone this week). God’s not ever going to stop loving you, but you have to “pick up the phone” and spend some quality time with with Him if you want to enjoy that relationship. Circumstances can’t separate us from God and His love for us, but it’s easy to slowly drift away from Him on our own, one day at a time, one decision at a time. When we realize we’re not as close to God as we should be, it’s worth it to come running back to Him. Got a few extra minutes right now to spend with Him? Grab a Bible or download a Bible app, listen to what He has to say from His Word, and pray to Him about what’s on your heart. He loves you and wants to spend time with you.
