These hot, sunny days call for some time in the shade! A big umbrella can definitely help keep the sun off, but you’ve got to stay in the shade for it to help (no, I don’t follow the girls around with that umbrella while they ride their scooters, believe it or not! 😏).
Psalms 91:1 says, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Dwell. Stay. Don’t leave! There’s protection in God’s will. When we’re where God wants us to be, doing what He wants us to do, we can rest assured that anything that happens to us is part of God’s plan. God is always in control but part of His plan is to allow us to suffer the consequences of bad choices if we leave His will. Much better to stay right where He wants us to be!
You can’t blame the shade for not moving with you, and we should never leave God‘s will and then blame Him for what happens. Following God means we have it made in the shade in so many ways. Let’s be sure to stay under His protection.
