Mark Twain once wrote, "Put all your eggs in the one basket and - WATCH THAT BASKET."
“Eggs in one basket” often refers to spreading investment money around (or not) to reduce the risk of losing money, but when it comes to our search for hope and truth, there’s only one place to look: Jesus Christ! 1 Corinthians 15:19-20 says, “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. 20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.” There is a ton of evidence that Jesus did in fact rise again, and we don’t need to look any further than Him for hope and truth for this life and eternity.
We don’t need a “diversified portfolio” for our spiritual lives and we don’t need to “hedge our investments” when it comes to God. Spiritually speaking, it’s ok if our eggs are all in one basket…as long as it’s the right basket!
