Do you know what the first bright-red sunrise after time change means?

Neither do I, but what does it mean when a bad person dies? The Bible has some helpful things to say about that.

‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭31‬:‭6‬ ‭says, “So Saul died, and his three sons, and his armourbearer, and all his men, that same day together.”

Sounds like great news, right? David didn’t view it that way. Saul was not a good man or a good king, but God sees the death of the wicked differently than we might (we could make a case that Saul wasn’t wicked, but he sure wasn’t living for God by the end).

Ezekiel 33:11 says, “Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?”

We often look into the depths of our own hearts and need to look into the depths of God’s heart instead.

God has mercy and a desire for the wicked to come to Him.

In fact, we all need God’s mercy and the opportunity to change.

Today's Bible reading is 1 Samuel 31.
