Sometimes we’ve got a little extra to carry!
My stack was a little bigger this morning as I headed to school, and that’s ok.
I’m sure we’ve all had Mondays where we had a lot on us. One verse running through my head as I went in to teach was Nehemiah 8:10 that ends with this amazing statement: “for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
We can have joy and strength because God is able to help us and loving enough to want to.
That’s a perspective that would’ve helped Job in Job chapter 12. In verses 24-25, Job says this about God: “He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, And causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way. They grope in the dark without light, And he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.”
Job knew that God is powerful but forgot how good and loving God is.
When we recognize God’s power but forget how much He loves us, everything can get hopeless quickly!
We need to remember that the One keeping us going is strong enough to be able to and loving enough to want to.
Today’s Bible reading is Job 12.
