What’s needed for growth?

It’s always amazing to see an acorn, especially one like this that’s already starting to sprout, and to realize that it has the capability of growing into a huge mighty oak tree.

Potential is a powerful thing. It’s humbling to think that I have the potential through God to grow into exactly the person God wants me to become and to accomplish everything He has planned for me. But obviously that’s not something I can ever do on my own, and I’ll only fail if I try.

No matter who we are, no matter what positions we hold, God is the secret to all of the good.

‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭12‬:‭14‬ ‭says, “If ye will fear the LORD, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the LORD your God:”

As Samuel got ready to pass off the scene, he could see the potential Israel had for good and for evil, for following God and for rejecting God.

We all have a lot of potential, and that should be a humbling and sobering thought.

Today's Bible reading is 1 Samuel 12.
