We shouldn’t blame God if we move away from Him and then fall
It’s impressive how the water and atmospheric pressure “hold onto” that card even with some weight on it. Even then, the distance has to be kept right or it’ll fall.
1 Samuel 4:5 says, “And when the ark of the covenant of the LORD came into the camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the earth rang again.”
Israel had moved away from God but still expected His help in battle. But the ark of the covenant was never a good luck charm, and Israel loses this battle.
Verse 21 says, “And she named the child Ichabod, saying, The glory is departed from Israel: because the ark of God was taken, and because of her father in law and her husband.”
Israel didn’t even seem to notice that they were far from God until they lost a military battle.
How quickly do you notice when there’s distance between you and God?
Are you staying close to God?
How much of a difference do you allow God make in your daily life?
Today's Bible reading is 1 Samuel 4.
