See for yourself
Apparently there was an amazing view of a SpaceX launch this morning! I saw pictures from several people up and down the East Coast, but I didn’t get to see it for myself. I appreciate Nick letting me use his picture, and I wish I would’ve seen the launch for myself!
After winning their first battle under new King Saul, some Israelites were ready to go after anyone who had doubted Saul to begin with. 1 Samuel 11:12 says, “And the people said unto Samuel, Who is he that said, Shall Saul reign over us? bring the men, that we may put them to death.”
Thankfully cooler heads prevailed as Saul gave God the glory: “And Saul said, There shall not a man be put to death this day: for to day the LORD hath wrought salvation in Israel. Then said Samuel to the people, Come, and let us go to Gilgal, and renew the kingdom there.”
(verses 13-14 ).
Saul would struggle later on, but here it became clear that God was using Saul mightily.
Now the people’s trust was battle tested. They’d seen for themselves what Saul was capable of with God’s help.
Maybe you’re facing a battle right now and have the opportunity to see for yourself what God can do.
Or maybe you just need to “taste and see that the LORD is good” as Psalms 34:8 says.
Today's Bible reading is 1 Samuel 11.
