“Only” is a big word!

‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭7‬:‭4‬ ‭says, “Then the children of Israel did put away Baalim and Ashtaroth, and served the LORD only.”

I don’t think they hated God before that. I don’t think they rejected God completely before that. But they did keep Him as one among many all too often. Their change here was much needed to say the least. 

I’m sure we all own a Bible, but is it one book among many, one influence among many influences in our life? Or is God the main influence, the top priority in our lives? Do we treat Him like the one and only?
