I’m down in the valley today (only in a literal sense, not hiking up into a mountain top), but I can still remember the higher perspective that God has of what’s going on in my life.

‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭22‬:‭4‬-‭5‬ says, “And he brought them before the king of Moab: and they dwelt with him all the while that David was in the hold. And the prophet Gad said unto David, Abide not in the hold; depart, and get thee into the land of Judah. Then David departed, and came into the forest of Hareth.”

Going back to Judah was probably tough for David. That’s where Saul was. That’s where David was to rule…someday.

But God had a plan that included David going back to Judah. Everything wouldn’t be easy, but it would be what needed to happen.

In Psalms 61:2, David said, “From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”

Mountaintop experiences are amazing, and obviously this verse is referring to God Himself, but I believe it also gives a great picture of the higher perspective that only God has and only God can give us

Sometimes we won’t even know what that higher perspective is, but we can trust that God has a higher perspective in mind.

Today's Bible reading is 1 Samuel 22.
