Harmacy: Well that sends the wrong message!
A place that’s supposed to help is advertising harm?!? Obviously it’s just a bulb that needs replaced, but sadly some people see God as the cause of harm instead of the merciful, loving, gracious God He is.
Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
We’ve seen God‘s good plans toward the people of Israel time and time again, and we can see God‘s good plan for Naomi in Ruth 4.
After a desperate move to Moab and the loss of her sons and husband, Naomi had grown bitter, but God still had a plan.
Ruth 4:14-15 says, “And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be the LORD, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsman, that his name may be famous in Israel. And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath born him.”
God allows us to go through difficulties, but they aren’t there to harm us ultimately. They’re there to strengthen us and bring greater good.
Let’s keep trusting God even before we get to the end of a trial.
Today’s Bible reading is Ruth 4.
