First frost!

If you’re like me and you love winter, this is the beginning of great things!

Sorry if you aren’t as excited as I am about cold weather coming, but like it or not, there’s no other option.

Sometimes we don’t need another option.

‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭16‬:‭14‬ ‭says, “But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.”

That verse always sounds strange to me at first! But it doesn’t mean that God sent a demon/evil spirit. It means God allowed Satan’s influence to get to Saul. After all, Saul had rejected God, so there was no other option for Saul than godless influence.

If we reject God, there’s nothing good left. Christians today have the permanent indwelling of the Holy Spirit, but we do choose our influences every day.

Let’s choose wisely. Let’s choose God.

Today's Bible reading is 1 Samuel 16.
