“What hath God wrought?”
That was the first telegraph message ever sent, and I love that! Look what God did!
This is obviously an old rotary phone not a telegraph (feel free to comment if you know how to use either one!), but I hope we will often brag about what God has done.
Judges 11:23-24 says, “So now the LORD God of Israel hath dispossessed the Amorites from before his people Israel, and shouldest thou possess it? Wilt not thou possess that which Chemosh thy god giveth thee to possess? So whomsoever the LORD our God shall drive out from before us, them will we possess.”
Jephthah attempted to reason with the invading army. It didn’t work, but he did make a good point: If the god you serve isn’t able to help you, that’s no one else’s fault.
Our true God never fails! He provides everything we need and so many extra blessings along the way as well.
Following God isn’t always easy, but it’s a privilege for others to be able to look at our lives and think “What hath God wrought?”
Today’s Bible reading is Judges 11.
