Praise is powerful!
Some days are up on the mountain top; others are down in the valley. This weekend has seen us spending time around the mountains of VA and NC while going through a difficult weekend.
But there hasn’t been a moment when we had nothing to praise God about. In fact there’s always plenty for us to praise God for if we are willing.
Praise really is powerful and can cut through discouragement, hopelessness, and even pride and selfish-focus.
Judges 5:1-2 says, “Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying, 2 Praise ye the LORD for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves.”
God had just given Israel a miraculous victory, and I love Deborah’s response of praise!
Verse 31 says, “So let all thine enemies perish, O LORD: but let them that love him be as the sun when he goeth forth in his might. And the land had rest forty years.”
Praise for what God has already done often gives us the strength we need to keep going.
So wherever you find yourself today, take time to praise.
Today’s Bible reading is Judges 5.
