It’s all from God
Fun family trip to Lancaster today! We got to see Joshua at Sight and Sound which was excellent. And they were filming so we might be in some crowd shots when the movie comes out in theaters in October (we were in the balcony, but you never know!).
We’re grateful we could be there for the filming of such a powerful story, and I can only imagine what it was like for Joshua and the Israelites to be there, involved in the parting of the Red Sea and so many military victories!
It really is true that “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights” as James 1:17 says.
Joshua 21:41 says, “All the cities of the Levites within the possession of the children of Israel were forty and eight cities with their suburbs.”
The Levites didn’t get their own sections of the Promised Land but instead got cities within the lands of the other tribes. Those tribes could’ve resented giving up their cities for God’s use, but it was God Who gave them the cities to begin with along with many other cities.
Resentment is a dangerous thing because it’ll stop us from being a part of what God is doing AND from enjoying the many blessings God gives us.
Let’s always remember and recognize that every good thing we have comes from God. And let’s be should be willing to use those blessings however God chooses.
Today’s Bible reading is Joshua 21.
