What mountain do you want?

There is a mountain off in the distance, but sometimes a mountain represents something bigger.

Joshua‬ ‭14‬:‭12‬ ‭says, “Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said.”

‭‭

Caleb knew which part of the Promised Land he wanted. He was one of 2 spies that wanted the Israelites to enter the Promised Land about 40 years earlier, and now he was getting his chance.

That mountain was fully within God’s will. In fact, God had promised it through Moses.

That mountain was the part of God‘s blessing and opportunity that Caleb wanted. He wanted to fight battles on that mountain and to live and do God‘s work on that mountain.

It’s not name it and claim it, but it is get off the sidelines and get busy for God.

Today’s Bible reading is Joshua 14.
