Something every leader needs to consider

And we should all be leading someone.

In anything we lead, the whole should be more than the sum of its parts. 

We had a fun family picnic at the Hamilton Ruritan park today. We ate simple food on a picnic blanket and played on simple equipment, and it was absolutely ideal! In many ways, the whole experience was more than the sum of its parts. 

And that’s exactly what should be happening with anything we lead because each person coming together to do whatever God has called them to do will have an incredible eternal impact. 

Deuteronomy‬ ‭33‬:‭1‬ ‭says, “And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.”

The Israelites would go beyond where Moses could go as they entered the Promised Land after he died, and Moses still blessed them. 

Moses wanted to see people reach their full potential in God, not their full potential in Moses. 

Our leadership should push people to go into everything God has for them, not just what we have for them. 

If our families, our churches, our Sunday school classes, whatever we lead, looks more and more like us but not more and more like Jesus, we’re failing as leaders.
