Simple but not easy?

Today was Addison and Brooklyn’s first day back at school, so we celebrated by going to Kogi for Korean hot pot.

If you’ve never been to a place like that, cooking your own food in a bowl of hot broth may not seem easy even though all you have to do is simply add ingredients and season it however you want.

Maybe for you it’s school that’s not easy even though you simply need to learn a bit each day.

Even following God is simple but not always easy.

Deuteronomy‬ ‭30‬:‭11‬-‭14‬ ‭says, “For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off. It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.”

Simple. At a basic level, following God really isn’t complicated, but it sure isn’t easy sometimes.

That’s why we need to rely on God’s strength and grace and help each day. If we let Him lead us each step, we’ll not only know the right way; we’ll go the right way.

Today’s Bible reading is Deuteronomy 30.
