Perpetual fountain?

Not without something helping it up, letting it flow higher. 

I’ve seen fake videos of almost the identical setup being a perpetual fountain where water flows out the bottom of the funnel through the hose and back into the funnel. Kind of a bummer that water seems its own level so that doesn’t work without some help. 

Just like this water, we all need help sometimes. The key is to get the right kind of help and to give the right kind of help when we’re helping others (maybe that’s 2 keys!). 

Deuteronomy‬ ‭24‬:‭19‬-‭22‬ ‭says, “When thou cuttest down thine harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hands. When thou beatest thine olive tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow. When thou gatherest the grapes of thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean it afterward: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow. And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt: therefore I command thee to do this thing.”

This is the principle of Biblical gleaning. 

There are times to give a person, a fish. and there are times to teach them how to fish, to enable a person, to help them up. 

I’m not saying there’s never a time to simply give someone something, but I am saying it’s more impactful and lasting to enable someone to be a part of the solution themselves when that’s possible.
