How do you respond when it’s just too much for you to handle?

“It’s too big. Let’s take a nap.” That’s a family favorite quote from years ago. Now a days the girls “carry” ballet responsibilities, school,…but years ago at a playground, they “attempted” to pick up a big rock, gave up just for the fun of it, and declared boldly (and repeatedly), “It’s too big. Let’s take a nap.”

I’m sure we all feel like that sometimes with responsibilities and just life in general.

Joshua‬ ‭17‬:‭16‬-‭18‬ ‭says. “And the children of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both they who are of Beth-shean and her towns, and they who are of the valley of Jezreel. And Joshua spake unto the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, Thou art a great people, and hast great power: thou shalt not have one lot only: but the mountain shall be thine; for it is a wood, and thou shalt cut it down: and the outgoings of it shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots, and though they be strong.”

It wasn’t about how strong the enemy was. It was about how strong God and His promises were.

When life gets heavy, grab a nap if you need one, but definitely don’t give up when you aren’t strong enough. If God called you to it, He will bring you through it.

Today’s Bible reading is Joshua 17.
