Be thankful for when and how God provides
We did a blind taste test of skittles and starburst to see if Brooklyn and others could tell the flavor without being able to see which one they were eating. Results varied, but overall it was hard to tell without being able to see it.
We used that as a reminder that sometimes we can’t tell how good something ultimately is or what good God will bring out of something when we can’t see what’s really going on. Those are times to still trust God for what He is providing and how and when He is providing it.
Joshua 5:11-12 says, “And they did eat of the old corn of the land on the morrow after the passover, unleavened cakes, and parched corn in the selfsame day. And the manna ceased on the morrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land; neither had the children of Israel manna any more; but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.”
God provided for them in a new way. They could lament that the daily manna was gone or celebrate that they were eating the food of the Promised Land.
How is God providing for you? Are you willing to trust Him and be thankful for His goodness even when you can’t see everything right now?
Today’s Bible reading is Joshua 5.
