Who’s steering this thing???

We can’t always choose the direction our life goes, but we can always choose to let God lead us.

Walkabout gliders: who knew that was something I needed to try?!? I’m not exactly a pro yet, but if you make a lightweight spinny glider and push air to it, you can keep it afloat for a long time and even steer it.

That’s the kind of control we often want over our own lives, but it’s the kind of control we should willingly yield to God.

In Numbers 27, God reminded Moses that Moses wouldn’t be able to enter the Promised Land because of his disobedience in striking the rock instead of speaking to it.

I’m humbled by Moses’ response: “Let the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation, which may go out before them, and which may go in before them, and which may lead them out, and which may bring them in; that the congregation of the LORD be not as sheep which have no shepherd.”

‭‭(Numbers‬ ‭27‬:‭16‬-‭17‬)

Moses didn’t pout or quit over the consequences of his sin. Instead he allowed God to direct and sought God’s continued direction (through the next leader) for the Israelites.

Losing the opportunity to enter the Promised Land would’ve ended most people even if that consequence was deserved. But Moses kept going because he allowed God to lead.

Today’s Bible reading is Numbers 27.
