Fun family trip to Harpers Ferry today! We got to see a lot and enjoy some wonderful time together.
Walking around Harpers Ferry with a bruised and swollen (possibly broken) toe hasn’t been fun! I “might have” dropped a small propane cylinder on that toe the other day!😳
In a beautiful place where there’s been a lot of conflict (John Brown fighting against slavery before the Civil War…), my hurt toe and stumbling, limping steps reminded me of my own weakness. I often can’t do anything to help with conflicts around the world, and today I can’t even walk normally.
But it’s often when I recognize I’m weak and can’t do it all on my own that things go much better.
2 Corinthians 11:30 says, “If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.”
I toughed it out and kept on walking today, but I’m glad that life isn’t all about what I can do on my own.
In fact, God loves to use our humility and weakness. That way whatever good comes out of our lives is all God not us. He can get the glory; we should just be glad to be a part of His work.
