Momentum makes all the difference 

You could say my devotionals are building momentum since this is the second one in a row to use a momentum illustration!🤣🤦‍♂️

Flick that card out from under the ball. The card goes flying, but the ball falls straight down. 

Deuteronomy‬ ‭14‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭says, “Ye are the children of the LORD your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead. For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.”

That behavior sounds like no big deal, but it was part of pagan rituals. They were supposed to be different. 

And that principal applies to all Christians now, not just Jews. 

1 Peter 2:9 says, But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

New Christians have a lot of growing to do, but the longer we’re saved, the more “peculiar” we should become as we grow more and more like our Savior. We won’t fit in with the world around us in many ways, but we will be grounded on our faith. Jesus is able to hold us up and hold us together. 

That’s something that should definitely gain momentum in our lives.
