For better or for worse, and our marriage just keeps getting better!
I’m so thankful for my wonderful, beautiful, Godly wife! After more than 15 years, our marriage is still getting sweeter and better!
Sometimes it’s the “worse,” the difficulties that hold people back. Sometimes it’s the “better,” the blessings and good times. Marriages can grow no matter what, and the same is true for our relationship with God.
Deuteronomy 8:3 says, “And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.”
Lack of food should’ve driven them to depend on God. Supernatural food (manna) should’ve made them thankful to God and dependent on Him for more than their daily hunger.
Deuteronomy 8:10 says, “When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.”
The good of the Promised Land should’ve been a constant source of gratitude, but those good times and blessings often led to apathy and self reliance instead.
Everything we go through should draw us closer to God.
