Sometimes blessings look like work!
Jen and I have gotten to spend some time in the garden the last couple days, and it’s paid off: I think we are getting ahead of the weeds!
If we want the blessing of a good garden, we need to do the work.
Leviticus 25:17-19 says, “Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God: for I am the LORD your God. Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety. And the land shall yield her fruit, and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety.”
That was written specifically for the Israelites then, but it’s an excellent general principle for us now as well.
If we want the blessings of God, we need to choose to live the way God has told us to live.
Today’s Bible reading is Leviticus 25.
