Some things can’t grow…yet

As more kids are playing on our church’s playground, we keep working to improve the grass back there. Apparently it used to be used as a parking lot before it was part of our church, so there is some old pavement and a lot of rocks. Kind of a fun project for me since I like to get grass to grow better, but it’s definitely true that not much will grow with those things in the way.

As we read certain parts of the Bible, God can seem overly harsh. But God knows that our faith and Christianity in general can’t grow properly if sin is tolerated or ignored.

Leviticus‬ ‭24‬:‭11‬ ‭says, “And the Israelitish woman's son blasphemed the name of the LORD, and cursed. And they brought him unto Moses: (and his mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan:)”

‭‭

Verse 14 says, “Bring forth him that hath cursed without the camp; and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him.”

We often have space to repent before judgment comes currently, but judgment is coming and sin is serious.

We should never ignore or tolerate sin, especially our own, and we should never let anything stop us or our families or our churches from being ready to grow.

Today’s Bible reading is Leviticus 24.
