God not only gives eternal life, He gives real, abundant life

Our relationship with Jesus is strong enough to carry us through life’s ups and downs.

Tomorrow morning it’s back to reality after camp. Jen and I won’t get to hike every day, and we won’t be attending amazing services as often. But the spiritual realities only change if we let them.

An abundant Christian life doesn’t always include wealth or easy circumstances, but it always includes purpose, joy, and truth, and we can experience that anywhere.

Numbers 21:5-6 says, “And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. 6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.”

Verse 8 says, “And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.”

The New Testament uses that situation as a picture of Jesus on the cross. All who look to Jesus for eternal salvation will be saved.

We need to look to Jesus for eternal life and also for real, true daily life.

Real life is only through Jesus. Are you living that life or some temporary version?

Today’s Bible reading is Numbers 21.
