What do you think of my little “boat”?
I got to illustrate a simple lesson for the girls: Boats float in water as long as water doesn’t get into them.
As Christians, we don’t have to panic when we realize we’re in the world. We need to get concerned when we realize the world’s in us!
God led the Israelites out of Egypt and then gave them the law to (among other things) help get Egypt out of them.
Exodus 40:33-36 says, “And he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the hanging of the court gate. So Moses finished the work. 34 Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. 35 And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. 36 And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys:”
They stopped their travels toward the Promised Land while God gave them the law and the tabernacle. They weren’t ready to move forward until they were truly ready to move forward with God.
We live in a very ungodly world. Are you shining the light into the darkness or allowing the world to darken your witness?
Are you moving forward with God, or has the world bogged you down?
Today’s Bible reading is Exodus 40.
