The ground is level at the foot of the cross
If you’ve never heard that expression before, it simply means everyone is able to come to God through Jesus’ death on the cross. Romans 3:23 makes it clear that we are all sinners, and it’s true that we’re all on equal footing at the cross.
All have sinned, and all can be forgiven.
Leviticus 4 has some great Old Testament references to this.
Verses 1-3 say, “And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them: If the priest that is anointed do sin according to the sin of the people; then let him bring for his sin, which he hath sinned, a young bullock without blemish unto the LORD for a sin offering.”
Leviticus 4:13 says, “And if the whole congregation of Israel sin through ignorance, and the thing be hid from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done somewhat against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which should not be done, and are guilty;”
Leviticus 4:22 says, “When a ruler hath sinned, and done somewhat through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD his God concerning things which should not be done, and is guilty;”
No matter who you are, Jesus loves you so much He died for you and offers salvation. Old Testament sacrifices looked forward to Jesus’ perfect sacrifice, and His salvation is available to everyone.
God loves everyone, and that love is shown by offering salvation to everyone, not by approving of us or our lifestyle. It’s not that we’re good. It’s that God is good.
Today’s Bible reading is Leviticus 4.
