Sin is expensive!
Jen and I went antiquing today. Not really my world, especially since I thought old, used stuff was supposed to be cheap! Apparently once it reached the status of “antique” the price goes up!
We had fun and Jen did find a couple good deals. Sometimes the real cost of things takes a lot longer to realize, though.
Leviticus 6:4-5 says, “Then it shall be, because he hath sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took violently away, or the thing which he hath deceitfully gotten, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing which he found, or all that about which he hath sworn falsely; he shall even restore it in the principal, and shall add the fifth part more thereto, and give it unto him to whom it appertaineth, in the day of his trespass offering.”
The Old Testament law made it clear that sin was expensive. A person needed to make things right when they sinned, even going above and beyond.
Proverbs 13:15 says, “Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.”
Sin is expensive; just look what our sin cost Jesus!
Let’s remember how expensive sin is and avoid it.
Today’s Bible reading is Leviticus 6.
