Ready for battle?

We got to go to Fort Loudon’s Across the Centuries event today where they showed what soldiers and weapons were like from various wars from antiquity to modern times.

Being battle ready has meant different things for militaries over the years, but being spiritually battle ready has stayed the same in one key way.

Exodus‬ ‭33‬:‭1‬ ‭says, “And the LORD said unto Moses, Depart, and go up hence, thou and the people which thou hast brought up out of the land of Egypt, unto the land which I sware unto Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, Unto thy seed will I give it:”

‭‭

Verse 2 gives the key: “And I will send an angel before thee; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite:”

‭‭

And in verse 15, Moses gives a perfect response: “And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.”

Whether our battles are big or small, we can move ahead if God is with us.

That means we need to let Him lead, not expect Him to go with us as we go our own way.

Today’s Bible reading is Exodus 33.
