Match it up and watch what happens
Fun little experiment: If a vibrating tuning fork with a different pitch touches the one with the ping-pong ball, not much happens. But match the frequencies and the ball starts bouncing around.
If we go our own way, our life and testimony will sputter to a stop in many ways.
But if we match our lives up with God’s plan, things start happening.
Leviticus 19:1-2 says, “And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy.”
These are commands for Israel, but it is informative to see what God lists as ways for them to be holy, separated, set apart to Him.
Leviticus 19:9 says, “And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest.”
And verse 17 says, “Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.”
Here and many other places, the Bible tells us to have compassion but never in any way that compromises on truth.
It’s never kind, loving, or compassionate to water down the truth or ignore it. And with God, it’s never an either/or.
Let’s make sure our hearts are right and then lovingly show God and His compassion and holiness to the world around us.
Today’s Bible reading is Leviticus 19.
