How important is family to you?
We miss Jen a lot as she’s away for a few days at a wedding. We love doing things as a whole family, but we “forced ourselves” to still go out for ice cream even without her! Don’t worry, I’m sure I now owe Jen some ice cream too!🤣
Families are very important to God, so He gave us a lot of input and set up a lot of boundaries for family life.
Leviticus 20:9-10 says, “For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him. And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.”
Families matter. They matter to God and they matter to the devil (which is why he works so hard to mess families up). Our family should matter to us so much that we protect it and make sure we let God lead our family each day.
The Old Testament law contained serious warnings like this about certain family issues, and there are other nuggets of family advice throughout the Bible.
Let’s value families as much as God does and protect the Biblical family the way God calls us to.
Today’s Bible reading is Leviticus 20.
