When it’s time to move forward

Exodus‬ ‭14‬:‭19‬ ‭says, “And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:”

‭‭

Nothing quite so dramatic here this afternoon, but we did enjoy seeing the rain coming down over across the field and to realize that the sun was directly behind me when I took that picture and just reflecting off those clouds.

Exodus 14 records the Egyptians chasing after the Israelites after they finally let them go from slavery.

With the Egyptian army behind and the Red Sea ahead, Israel kind of froze in place for a bit, but God was watching g their back and encouraging them to take the next steps forward.

Exodus‬ ‭14‬:‭15‬ ‭says, “And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:”

Sometimes we just want to look back even though it’s time to move forward. Sometimes we want to pray more about something even though we already know the answer. We should pray as we move forward, of course, but procrastinating through prayer is not beneficial.

When God shows us which way to go, let’s move forward for God knowing that we will be moving forward with God.

Today’s Bible reading is Exodus 14.
