I think I might be missing the point!

Carrying umbrellas in the rain but not actually using them may not be the best idea! They’d work better opened! I was just walking a little ways to get the girls from ballet and didn’t feel like worrying with an umbrella, but a lot of times we miss the point in much bigger ways.

I think one of those ways is the idea of giving to God. It’s not that He needs something from us. He is the creator and master of everything and lacks nothing, but He invites us to be a part of His amazing work.

Exodus‬ ‭25‬:‭2‬ ‭says, “Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.”

They got to give offerings that would help in the making of the tabernacle. Whether it’s giving financially, giving time or talent, or giving other resources, I hope we’d be willing to be a living sacrifice, to give it all to God. He doesn’t need our stuff, but He does invite us to be a part of the best mission ever.
