Hide it or deal with it?
I have a very bad habit of keeping a ton of Internet tabs open on devices. I was trying to click on the right one recently and apparently attempted to open private browsing. Don’t worry, I immediately got out of that. It’s wonderful to have nothing to hide, and if anyone wants to check my devices, I just hope they’ll also do some of the work I’ve got on them as well!🤣
It really is the best way to live with nothing to hide.
Exodus 23 continues to lay out the law and more than once emphasizes the need for honesty.
Exodus 23:1 says, “Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.”
Exodus 23:6-7 says, “Thou shalt not wrest the judgment of thy poor in his cause. Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked.”
It can often be tempting to lie or deceive, but it’s much better to be honest. Honesty pleases God, and it also invites God’s help into our lives.
We don’t have to hide the truth or hide our sins from God. We need to be willing to come to Him in truth and to repent. He will forgive all of it, but only if we are willing to sincerely and honestly come to Him.
Proverbs 28:13 puts it this way: “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”
Today’s Bible reading is Exodus 23.
