Where’d that come from?
I asked the girls to each grab something random, and this is what they grabbed! You can try to read some deep meaning into it, but it’s just kind of random.
Not sure where those ideas came from, and that honestly sounds like Elihu in Job 36.
Job 36:1-3 says, “Elihu also proceeded, and said, Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee That I have yet to speak on God's behalf. I will fetch my knowledge from afar, And will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.”
Verse 11 says, “If they obey and serve him, They shall spend their days in prosperity, And their years in pleasures.”
Where did that come from? Not from God! Elihu is in some pretty interesting territory here for sure. He’s right that God is righteous, but I don’t know where he fetched some of his “knowledge” from.
Following God doesn’t guarantee prosperity or an easy life, but it does guarantee a life of purpose and meaning.
Following God is worth it even if today is difficult.
Today’s Bible reading is Job 36.
