What do we do with the fact that some Christians are hypocrites?

Hypocrites are everywhere…including among Christians. Does that mean we should reject the truth of the Bible because some people do a hypocritical job of following it? Of course not!

Hypocrites are bad reflections of the truth,  but they don’t change the truth.

Job‬ ‭35‬:‭16‬ ‭says, “Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; He multiplieth words without knowledge.”

‭‭

Elihu seems to have done just that himself: in many ways he opened his mouth in vain and spoke a bunch of words without knowledge. He meant well, but he really doesn’t seem to have completely held up his end of his own standard.

I love the quote, “People are people and nothing more, and God is God and nothing less.”

Let’s never let imperfect people keep us away from our perfect God.

And while we’re at it, let’s do our part to show everyone around us how amazing and true God is by the way we live. We won’t be perfect, but we can be consistent and genuine.

Today’s Bible reading is Job 35.
