We can always look on the right side even when we can’t always look on the bright side
The sun did come out in a big way later today, but this morning it was nothing but clouds. Maybe life feels like that sometimes. I agree it’s not always easy to look on the bright side, but with God in our lives, we can always look on the right side.
Job 30:25-26 says, “Did not I weep for him that was in trouble? Was not my soul grieved for the poor? When I looked for good, then evil came unto me: And when I waited for light, there came darkness.”
I get that Job was going through unimaginable difficulties, but no matter where we find ourselves, there is a right way to look at things. And that’s always through the lens of hope, through the fact that God sees us and loves us. Circumstances aren’t always good, but God sure is.
As I was thinking about this devotional, I heard this in a song: “I can face it with this hope: Jesus won’t forget His own.”
In Genesis 16:13 Hagsr put it this way:
And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?
Maybe you can’t force yourself to look on the bright side right now, but I sure hope you’ll look on the right side and see that God is still there, still loving you, and still good.
Today’s Bible reading is Job 30.
