Shocking!
I love being a science nerd! My dad and I got to set up this Van de Graaff generator for a STEAM Showcase tomorrow night, so of course I had to play around with it a bit extra afterward (I mean, how often can you make lightning in your kitchen?!?).
It’s also shocking to hear one of Job’s friends speak actual truth after so many assumptions and way-off statements, but that’s just what Elihu does in Job 37.
Job 37:23 says, “Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.”
Honestly, that statement reminds of the questions God will soon ask Job to help Job consider how great God is even when our circumstances aren’t great.
Job wasn’t being punished. He hadn’t sinned. He didn’t deserve what was happening to him. But God was bringing good from the tragedies, and Job had an amazing opportunity to learn more about God and grow in his relationship with Him (and receive abundant blessings soon).
Job would’ve done better if kept his high view of God remembering that we can’t always understand why God does what He does or why He allows what He allows.
We can always remember that God is just and good and loving.
And we can trust even when we can’t see.
Today’s Bible reading is Job 37.
