It’s not always that quick!

Brooklyn got this fun color-changing shirt for her birthday. Step outside and the sun brings out those colors almost immediately! 

Whether it’s color changing t-shirts, microwave food, or a bunch of other things, we often expect immediate results.  Some things just don’t work that way. 

In Job‬ ‭18‬:‭21‬, Bildad says, “Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, And this is the place of him that knoweth not God.” 

This came after a long explanation of the bad things that he knew would immediately happen to anyone who disobeyed God. But it’s not that simple. 

Bildad seems to have thought that blessing and punishment were automatic and immediate, but that’s just not what the Bible says and not what we see in the world around us. 

In fact, in Matthew 5:45 Jesus says, “That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”

Rewards and consequences do come, but they come in God’s time, not our time. 

Let’s trust God by trusting His timing.
