How big is God?

That can be a really hard question to answer in any legitimate way. I always like to look at creation, the sky, maybe the moon and stars to try to get a little glimpse of how big God is.

It’s normal to not be able to really answer that question, but what’s sad is if we try to make a god in our own image, a version of God we can control, one who fits into our version of who/what He should be.

And that’s what we’ll be tempted to do if we forget how big God is or let pride get us confused.

God gave Job some vivid reminders of how big He is.

Job‬ ‭40‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭says, “Behold now behemoth, Which I made with thee; He eateth grass as an ox. Lo now, his strength is in his loins, And his force is in the navel of his belly.”

Job‬ ‭40‬:‭19‬ ‭says, “He is the chief of the ways of God: He that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.”

Job responded with humility and will soon be blessed by God, and I love how first Job got reminded just how powerful God is.

Pride has a way of making us seem bigger and God seem smaller. Let’s remember how big God is, how small we are, and how much He loves us.

Today’s Bible reading is Job 40.
