You can see it!
Real things really show up.
Just today, I saw a video of someone crushing Lifesavers with a pair of pliers and how it creates a bright blue spark! So of course I had to go try it.
It definitely works! A little hard to capture on camera and only works with the wintergreen Lifesavers. Apparently it’s a process called triboluminescence where a crushed crystal structure (sugar in this case) can actually produce light.
But how amazing that you can see it!
Genesis 44:33-45:1 says, “Now therefore, I pray thee, let thy servant abide instead of the lad a bondman to my lord; and let the lad go up with his brethren. 34 For how shall I go up to my father, and the lad be not with me? lest peradventure I see the evil that shall come on my father.
1 Then Joseph could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he cried, Cause every man to go out from me. And there stood no man with him, while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren.”
Joseph had been testing his brothers to see if their change was real ever since they had sold him into slavery all those years ago. This conversation left no doubt! Their repentance was so real you could hear it in their words and see it in their actions.
Have you come to Jesus for salvation? If so, He has made you new and changed you.
As a Christian, do you have to spend time trying to convince people that you are different or can they tell it? Is the change obvious? Can they see it?
Christians aren’t perfect, but we do have God in us. That’s a change that should show up.
So if there are any areas that need to change, come to God. We can’t earn our salvation, but as Christians we can live out that real change with God’s help.
Today’s Bible reading is Genesis 44 (and just the first verse of Genesis 45!).
