What rises to the top when your life gets flipped upside down?

You gotta love walking around Cracker Barrel’s gift section! I always enjoy these oil and water glass containers. When you flip it upside down, the lighter liquid rises to the top.

The Bible records how Joseph’s life got flipped upside down by false accusation, but his character is what rose to the top.

Genesis 39:13-14 says, “And it came to pass, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand, and was fled forth, 14 That she called unto the men of her house, and spake unto them, saying, See, he hath brought in an Hebrew unto us to mock us; he came in unto me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice:”

Absolute lies because as we know, Joseph had done nothing wrong. It would be years before things were set right, but God saw it all and blessed.

Let’s live a life that’s so Godly that any accusations will be false.

It’s not that we never sin. But we confess and forsake our sin when we do.

So if someone comes out of left field with some crazy accusation, we need to live a life that makes sure it’s false.

That’s character. And integrity. And a life that points others to Jesus.

Today’s Bible reading is Genesis 39.
