This was the science experiment I didn’t realize I was doing!
Tests come when we least expect them sometimes!
I cleaned out our fireplace recently and spread ash on our garden…well, on the snow on top of our garden.
The wind blew some of the ash over to this spot, and the sun and ash did the rest.
I didn’t even realize I’d get to test that during this recent snowfall!
Often the tests we face when we least expect them are a whole lot more serious.
Genesis 38:24 says, “And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.”
In a sickening situation, it was Judah who was also guilty. He didn’t expect to get caught. He didn’t expect his sin to find him out in such a dramatic fashion as we see in this chapter. But sin always catches up with us.
I genuinely hope none of us can relate to this exact situation, but all of us face tests. Does God find us doing right? Does He find us doing wrong? Find us hoping to get the reward for our actions or covering up what we did?
Today’s Bible reading is Genesis 38.
