No news is good news: How to respond when God seems silent
Is an empty mailbox good news or bad news to you? Maybe you get birthday cards or other fun things in the mail, or maybe it’s mostly bills!
But when it’s God we want to hear from and don’t seem to be able to, that’s when things get real.
And that’s exactly how Job felt for a while after he went through so many tragedies.
Job 9:11 says, “Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: He passeth on also, but I perceive him not.”
Maybe, like Job, you’ve wondered things like “Is God ignoring me?” Or “Is He angry at me?”
But God wasn’t ignore Job; He was doing amazing things behind the scenes.
And God wasn’t allowing anything out of anger at Job.
Job needed to turn toward God not away during this apparently silent time.
So when God seems silent, let’s trusting that He’s building up to the “big reveal.”
Today’s Bible reading is Job 9.
