It’s not always kissing in the moonlight, but sometimes it is!

I got to take my wonderful wife out on Friday night for Valentine’s Day dinner a day early. Brooklyn’s request as we were leaving her with my parents was that we “kiss in the moonlight” and take a picture of it. Such a random kid! The best we could do was kiss under a streetlight!

Times like this are wonderful, but even the difficult times are important.

Genesis‬ ‭46‬:‭26‬-‭27‬ ‭says, “All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, which came out of his loins, besides Jacob's sons' wives, all the souls were threescore and six; and the sons of Joseph, which were born him in Egypt, were two souls: all the souls of the house of Jacob, which came into Egypt, were threescore and ten.”

Sometimes Egypt is a part of the plan.

As you may know, the Israelites wouldn’t leave Egypt for hundreds of years, and their warm welcome would soon turn into slavery.

But if we flash even farther forward, we see God bringing good out of all of it. God’s plan isn’t always for our lives to be easy, but everything He allows into our lives is for our good and His glory. He wants to use everything to make us a little bit more like Him.

Sometimes you go to Egypt, but if God goes with you, it’s worth the trip.

Today’s Bible reading is Genesis 46.
