If everything seems black and white, you just might be color blind!

No this is not a post about racial issues, and yes your eyes still work (sorry if you’re actually colorblind, I’m just trying to illustrate a point!). A lot of things aren’t as clear as we sometimes try to make them. Turns out we often color things with our opinion or turn things into clearcut black-and-white issues that aren’t quite so obvious in reality.

Job‬ ‭8‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭says, “If thou wert pure and upright; Surely now he would awake for thee, And make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous. Though thy beginning was small, Yet thy latter end should greatly increase.”

‭‭

It was all black and white to Bildad: Job was being punished for sinning and needed to repent. But we know from Job 1 that Job was innocent.

Bildad didn’t know that, but he didn’t need to assume either. We should never be more specific about God than He is about Himself.

And we should never be more specific than the Bible is on issues it speaks into. Or at least we need to admit it’s just your opinion!, not Bible truth, if we are.

Some things really are black and white. Other times, there’s more going on and we need to depend on the Holy Spirit instead of our opinion.

Today’s Bible reading is Job 8.
