I know something you don’t know!
Isn’t that just such an arrogant, obnoxious statement! I got nothing, but Joseph found himself in an amazing position in Genesis 43.
Genesis 43:33-34 says, “And they sat before him, the firstborn according to his birthright, and the youngest according to his youth: and the men marvelled one at another. 34 And he took and sent messes unto them from before him: but Benjamin's mess was five times so much as any of theirs. And they drank, and were merry with him.
Joseph knew who his brothers were, but they didn’t recognize him. He knew a lot that they didn’t know.
He used that knowledge to test his brothers, and he used his position to help them. Joseph would soon bring his family to Egypt, constantly providing for them.
It’s easy to be a know-it-all, but it’s truly extraordinary to use what we know to help others.
Today’s Bible reading is Genesis 43.
